Police after midnight Wednesday cited an 18-year-old New Canaan man for minor drug and motor vehicle infractions following a traffic stop.
At about 12:02 a.m. on Jan. 18, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle on Main Street with an expired registration plate, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming out of the vehicle, the report said.
The officer found pot on the teen, it said.
He was issued infraction summonses for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
