Police on Sunday arrested a 47-year-old New Canaan woman and charged her with driving under the influence, drinking while driving and interfering with an officer.
At about 5:07 p.m. on Aug. 25, an officer on patrol in the area of Ponus Ridge and Davenport Ridge Road saw a vehicle run a stop sign, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop at Frogtown Road and Welles Lane, the officer smelled alcohol on her breath and observed additional signs of impairment, the report said.
She was uncooperative and, as a result, field sobriety tests were not completed, it said.
Police transported the woman to headquarters to be charged with the misdemeanor offenses. There, she refused to provide a breath sample to establish her blood-alcohol level.
Police additionally cited the woman for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to comply with a request for fingerprints.
She was released on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 6 in state Superior Court.
