The town last week issued a permit to build a 5,876-square-foot home on a vacant Woods End Road lot.

The new home at 85 Woods End Road will cost about $1,021,000 to build and will include five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, one half-bath, two fireplaces a finished basement and three-bay garage, according to a building permit issued Jan. 9.
The 1.39-acre lot had been sold in August for $975,000, tax records show.
The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Sillo Construction LLC.

The Building Department on Jan. 5 issued a demolition permit for a 5,700-square-foot Colonial at 416 West Road. The property is owned by a LLC whose principal also owns and resides at the property next door.
