A new single-family home is planned for a 2-acre lot on Parting Brook Road where a 1956-built Cape Cod-style house had stood.

The house at 36 Parking Brook Road will include 5,031 square feet of living space, according to a building permit application submitted April 17 to the town.
To be built by Darien-based Fox Hill Builders and designed by Mansfield’s New England Design Inc. will have six bedrooms and full bathrooms, one half-bath, a partially finished basement that includes a full bath and a three-car garage, the application said.
The home will cost about $1.8 million to build, it said.
The property had been purchased in March 2015 for $690,000, tax records show.
