The town’s newest cold treat vendor hopes to open its doors in New Canaan just as the weather warms up.
Peachwave Frozen Yogurt will open in early April, according to Heather Lewis, the community outreach director.
“New Canaan is a beautiful town and we have already felt warmly welcomed by its community,” Lewis told NewCanaanite.com in an email. “Peachwave looks forward to building many relationships within New Canaan for years to come.”
The location at 11 Forest St. will place the self-serve outfit on New Canaan’s “Restaurant Row,” opposite Gates and Tequila Mockingbird. Peachwave joins Baskin-Robbins up the hill, Gelatissimo Artisan Gelato (also on Forest), Swirl down East Avenue and on Cherry, and Red Mango on Elm in offering frozen treats to New Canaanites.
“We at Peachwave are very excited to have the opportunity to bring our premium froyo experience to New Canaan in the beginning of April,” Lewis said. “In addition to having a wide selection of delicious frozen yogurt and toppings, we offer a unique in-store experience which appeals to all ages. Peachwave also offers Bonjo coffee, premium teas, and froyo shakes.”
Redding-based PS Designs has been contracted to do the approximately $225,000 in work to ready the new Peachwave location, according to a building permit issued Jan. 13 by the town.
