  1. Just a comment on Walter Stewart’s mask policy. As downtown recovers
From shut downs stores, stringent mask policies in town and in stores,
it’s good to see all is opening up. People mask free and enjoying themselves
once again. We made it through!!! However Walter Stewart’s has for some
Unknown reason decided to keep a mask policy in place.
    Stating, at some point
in the future, they will decide if that policy will end. Let’s see, CDC, President,
Governor, have all ended the mask policy. What does W.S. Know,
that those in power do not? What science does W.S. Have for extending
wearing masks. I know shopping is a dream, now that I don’t have
To muffle my breathing, my voice. I would think W.S. Would welcome
the no mask policy as it will help the ambience of the store, not to mention
boosting their sales. What a strange decision they have made, particularly
In that it’s so vague. I love W.S. And have been going there since 1975.
MY decision is…I not wearing a mask in there as of today. Out of respect to
All the customers who have been vaccinated. Time to have fun again.
Meet your friends at Walter Stewart’s and shop mask free.

    • Out of respect for Doug, Alex, CJ, Bailey, Joanne, and all of the wonderful people who work at Walter Stewart’s and did so through the pandemic with the same characteristic excellent customer service and smiles that I’ve grown to love in my years of shopping there, I will continue to wear a mask inside to shop as long as they ask me to do so. A private business can do as it pleases and I’m happy to support their decision to keep their customers, and perhaps more importantly, their team members, safe. You simply do not k is who has been vaccinated. (For the record, I have!). I hope that you and others who share your thoughts reconsider them.

      • I agree with Hilary! While I have only shopped there since 1988, I will gladly don a mask to ensure our community remains as healthy as possible, particularly the employees we love so much!

Not only can we not trust who is and is not vaccinated, not everyone has the same level of protection post vaccination and a large portion of our town – our children – remain unvaccinated. I commend WS’s commitment to safety!

  2. Grateful for this family run business that served as part of the frontline to make sure we had access to food and safety products. Whatever policy they decide is best, I will gladly support. Thank you Walter Stewart’s !

  3. Walter Stewart’s has long been a town treasure and I am always impressed with their array of products and quality service. Their extraordinary efforts throughout this last year is proof of their commitment to serve their customers, employees and community throughout this challenging time. Thank you Walter Stewart’s!

  4. To the letter writers above, no factual reasons given for a mask policy you
Love. Very weird. Go ahead ,mask up til the cows come home . Have fun.

  5. Last comment on this subject from me. . The only fear you have is, is fear itself.
I’ve have decided with all the mask up comments, I after 46 years of
going to Walter Stewart’s happily, I will not be shopping there again until
the unscientific mask policy indict is taken down. I will shop at all other
grocery stores who have a policy of no mask or mask..it’s up to you.
They give you a choice. And I’m happy to take it.
