Police after midnight Tuesday arrested a 52-year-old Ridgefield man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 12:01 a.m. on April 11, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle traveling northbound on New Norwalk Road cross over the double-yellow line, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled alcohol on the motorist’s breath, the report said. The driver then failed field sobriety tests, it said. He refused to undergo a blood-alcohol content test, police said.
The man additionally was cited for failure to drive right, an infraction offense.
Police released the Ridgefielder on $300 bond and scheduled him to appear April 21 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
