Police on Sunday night arrested a 33-year-old South Salem, N.Y. man after finding a crack pipe in his pocket during a traffic stop.
At about 7:55 p.m. on Jan. 14, an officer on patrol saw a vehicle traveling northbound on Smith Ridge Road pass another in a no-passing zone, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer ran the motorist’s name and found that Danbury Court had issued a paperless re-arrest warrant in connection with a sixth-degree larceny charge that came out of Ridgefield last May.
While searching the man, the officer found a red crack pipe in his front pocket, the report said.
He was charged with use and possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree failure to appear, and cited for the motor vehicle violation.
Police released the man on $1,500 bond and scheduled him to appear Jan. 25 and 26 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
