Police: Motorist in Weed Street Crash Uninjured, Cited for Speeding

The driver who crashed a car Sunday night into a stone wall on Weed Street was not injured and received a verbal warning for speeding, police said.

The motorist in this April 6, 2014 Weed Street accident has been identified as a 23-year-old South Salem, NY man. He was uninjured and cited for speeding, police say.

A 23-year-old South Salem, NY man, he was traveling north on Weed at about 8:35 p.m. on April 6 when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and into a stone wall, according to police.

There were no passengers and nobody was injured, said Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

The accident occurred just below Knapp Lane on Weed Street. One witness to the accident’s aftermath described the driver as “a lucky guy.”
