New Canaan Police on Thursday arrested a 48-year-old Butler Lane man by warrant and charged him with five counts of voyeurism, five counts of violation of a protective order, three counts of risk of injury to a child and eavesdropping.

Police on Feb. 13 took a complaint from the victim of the man’s violation of a protective order, officials said.

Through an investigation, authorities determined that he not only had violated the order but was guilty of the additional charges, according to a police report.

He turned himself into police at about 4:01 p.m. on June 23, the report said.

He was held on $1 million bond and scheduled to appear June 24.

Police withheld details, saying it was a domestic matter.

The same man had been charged by New Canaan Police with disorderly conduct in February and electronic stalking and violation of a protective order in March, records show.
