Police on Saturday arrested a 38-year-old New Canaan woman and charged her with disorderly conduct.

At about 4:26 p.m. on Feb. 12, officers were dispatched to a Fawn Lane home in regards to a domestic dispute between the woman and another person at the residence, according to a police report.

Police conducted an investigation and issued a summons for the misdemeanor charge at the scene.

It isn’t clear what the dispute involved, whether it turned physical or whether the arrested woman is related to the other person. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter. Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when he or she, “with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person,” among other reasons.

Police released the woman after she promised to appear Monday in state Superior Court.
