Poodle Wanders into Next-Door Neighbor’s House, Upstairs

A poodle wandered from its own house on Elm Place on a recent morning, into a neighbor’s home and up to the second floor, police say.

At about 10:10 a.m. on Sept. 6, police were called to an Elm Place house on a call of the roaming apricot-colored dog, according to a police report.

Turns out the dog belonged to a next-door neighbor, a family that’s new to town, Animal Control Officer Maryann Kleinschmitt said.

The dog hadn’t been licensed, Kleinschmitt said.

A Richmond Hill Road dog owner was fined $92 for allowing her dog to roam after it was found across Weed Street and north of Frogtown, police said.

The pit bull mix—a very friendly dog, Kleinschmitt said—has been known to roam in the neighborhood.
