Police last week arrested a 24-year-old Bridgeport man and charged him with reckless driving.

At about 1:43 p.m. on March 28, officers were dispatched to the area of Ponus Ridge and Frogtown Road on a report of an erratic vehicle, police said.

There, they identified the Bridgeport man as the driver and, through an investigation, learned that Trumbull Police held an active warrant for his arrest. It isn’t clear what charge he faces there—no information was immediately available from the Connecticut Judicial Branch.

Police brought the misdemeanor reckless driving charge, and also charged the man with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension.

Under state law, a person is guilty of reckless driving if he or she operates a motor vehicle “recklessly, having regard to the width, traffic and use of such highway, road, school property or parking area, the intersection of streets and the weather conditions,” among other reasons.

He was released after promising to appear April 13 in state Superior Court.
