Police last week arrested a 62-year-old New Canaan woman by warrant and charged her with risk of injury to a child.
On May 20, the state Department of Children and Families contacted police regarding a report of suspected child abuse they’d received from Norwalk Hospital, officials said.
The suspect was identified as a relative of the infant victim, who was four months old at the time of the incident, according to a police report.
Police conducted a joint investigation with DCF, and identified the Lakeview Avenue woman as the suspect, the report said.
They secured a warrant for her on the felony charge, it said.
On Nov. 10, police took custody of the woman. She was held on $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear the same day in state Superior Court.
