Sarah Dolena Saccary
Dolly Saccary, age 99 passed away peacefully May 30, 2021 with her nephew Bill MacPherson by her side at the Northside Community Guest House in North Sydney NS Canada. She was born in Reserve Cape Breton Nova Scotia Canada on March 6, 1922 to William & Mary Sinclair. She was preceded in death by her husband Neil Saccary in 1995.
Dolly moved from Canada to the United States in 1952 with her family. She lived and worked in New Canaan CT as a housekeeper for many years before returning to Canada, where she lived out the rest of her life.
She loved her family and spending time with them as much as possible. During many get togethers when the music started, she would love to sing along.
Dolly was the last surviving member of her immediate family of 5 sisters and 6 brothers and her parents. Dolly was predeceased by her son William James Saccary Sr. in 1988.
Survivors include her son Angus Saccary and his wife Sharon of Norwalk, Mose Saccary and his wife Mary of Ridgefield. Grandchildren Stacey Gallant, Rose Saccary, William Saccary Jr, Nicholas Saccary. Great-grandchildren Megan Saccary, Caitlyn Saccary and William Zachary Southard.
We would like to thank the Northside Community Guest Home for everything that they have done for Dolly and our family. There are not enough words to express how we feel. The care and compassion they showed numerous times throughout her stay there was amazing. Everyone who worked there became a part of our family. We will be forever grateful for all of them.
Dolly will be brought back to the United States for burial with her husband and son. Date and time not yet determined.
Our sincere condolences to all who loved and cared for Dolly. I remember her as a clever, humorous lady who loved her family fiercely. I’m sure Neilly met her at the gates 🙂
