Police on Tuesday morning arrested a 21-year-old New Canaan resident downtown following a family dispute.
At about 11:15 a.m. on May 17, officers were dispatched to a business on East Avenue following a report of a dispute, according to a police report.
There, police came upon the 21-year-old, a Smith Ridge Road resident, in a parking lot.
Following an investigation, police arrested her for second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault.
It wasn’t clear just how the parties are related, what precipitated the dispute or why police brought the assault charge.
The woman was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear May 18 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
