Two Bats Found in New Canaan Homes, One Crow Outside

The New Canaan Police Department’s Animal Control Unit has responded to two calls for bats found inside homes in town recently, as well as a report of a large crow that flew into a window. According to Officer Mary Ann Kleinschmitt, head of the unit, both bats tested negative for rabies. The first call, made at 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 30 from a Meadow Lane home, was for a bat inside a home with an infant child, Kleinschmitt said. At 11:20 a.m. on Feb.
