‘A Lovely, Welcoming and Small Business-Friendly Town’: Element Medical Aesthetics Marks One Year on Main Street

Downtown New Canaan’s Element Medical Aesthetics is nearing an important milestone. A provider of wrinkle reducers, filler, lasers and radiofrequency treatments, PDO threads, chemical peels, hair restoration and body and facial treatments, among other services, the business at 80 Main St. is marking one year here. We put some questions to owner Merry Thornton on the occasion. Here’s our exchange.

Q&A: ‘Element Medical Aesthetics’ To Open Next Week on Main Street

A new business is coming to downtown New Canaan. Element Medical Aesthetics is set to open next week at 80 Main St.

In advance of the openings, we put some questions to owner Merry Thornton. Here’s our exchange.

New Canaanite: Before we get into your business, please tell us a little bit about your own professional background. Merry Thornton: I earned my Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at Weill Cornell and have spent the last decade working alongside leading dermatologists and plastic surgeons. During this time, I developed a passion for skincare and aesthetics with a focus on natural-looking results.

Aesthetic Treatment Business Planned for Main Street

A new aesthetic treatment business is planned downtown New Canaan, according to an application field with the Planning & Zoning Commission.

Element Medical Aesthetics PLLC will be located on the third floor of 80 Main St., a commercial building opposite Town Hall, according to a site plan application on file with P&Z. Reached by NewCanaanite.com, business owner Merry Thornton said she’s “excited to be opening Element Medical Aesthetics in New Canaan, as it is a lovely town with a fantastic community.” Element “will offer skincare procedures with treatments such as Botox fillers, chemical peels, and more, in an environment reminiscent of an old apothecary,” she said in an email. “As a Weill-Cornell trained, board certified physician assistant with many years of experience, I look forward to providing the residents of New Canaan with a safe, professional, and welcoming boutique spa to focus on their well-being.” It will open in February 2022, she said. Element will include three rooms for providing aesthetic treatments to customers, each with a sink, and additional fixtures such as treatment chairs and storage cabinets, the application said.
