Police: Eight More Unlocked Vehicles Illegally Entered, Items Stolen

Police said last week that eight more vehicles left unlocked at New Canaan homes had been illegally entered, the latest in a trend that has prompted town officials to urge residents to lock up. Items including a wallet, golf bag and clubs, key fob, purse with credit cards and other documents with personal information were reported missing from the unlocked vehicles on Hawks Hill, Valley, Deep Valley and Lantern Ridge Roads and Meadow Lane, according to police. The illegal entries and thefts were reported throughout the Fourth of July weekend, Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said in a press release.
“Please remember to always lock your vehicles and take the keys with you,” the chief said in the release. “Secure valuables. Never leave valuables in your vehicle.
