More than 150 New Canaan homes went without power for part of Wednesday morning after a tree fell on power lines on Ferris Hill Road, officials said.
Around 7:16 a.m., the large fallen tree caused a fire and closed the road, according to New Canaan Fire Department officials. No injuries were reported.
Eversource workers cut the power lines and New Canaan firefighters extinguished the blaze, officials said.
It isn’t clear just when the town will be able to reopen the road.
Around 9 a.m., Eversource had restored power in New Canaan to all but nine homes, according to its outage list online.
New Canaan will have more updates on the road closure as information becomes available.
