Police on Thursday evening arrested a 36-year-old Darien man and charged him with sixth-degree larceny.
At about 3:21 p.m. on May 10, authorities received a complaint about a theft of gas from the Mobil Station downtown from the business’s owner, according to a police report.
A man had dispensed $23.96 in gas into his vehicle and left without paying, according to the report.
His license plate was recorded by video surveillance, it said.
Police traveled to the man’s home in Darien and charged him with the misdemeanor offense.
He was released after promising to appear May 24 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
