Police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old Ridgefield man by warrant in connection with a pre-dawn car crash in August.
The Silvermine Road crash occurred around 4:38 a.m. on Aug. 20, when the man struck a tree while traveling southbound along the downhill between the Carter and Little Brook Road intersections, according to a police report.
Members of the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the motorist to the Norwalk Hospital emergency room, and a subsequent search warrant found his blood-alcohol level to be .16, or twice the legal limit, the report said.
He turned himself in to New Canaan Police at about 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 on a charge of driving under the influence. The man also was cited for failure to drive right.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear Oct. 12 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
