The New Canaan Building Department last month received an application for a 10,250-square-foot home on the former Frogtown Nurseries property.
The seven-bedroom house at 259 Frogtown Road will include eight full bathrooms, two half-baths, a finished attic and three-bay garage, according to a building permit application filed Oct. 14.
It will cost about $2 million to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is the property owner—The Frog Pond Estates LLC, a company whose managing principal is a New Canaan man, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records—the architect is Easton-based CAH Architecture and Design LLC, it said.
The two-acre property sold for $1.4 million in June, tax records show.
Its prior owner had been involved in years-long legal battles with neighbors that were withdrawn from state Superior Court in the past 12 months, according to Connecticut Judicial Branch records.
