The New Canaan Building Department on July 14 received an application to build a new, 10,000-square-foot home on Parade Hill Lane.
The house planned for 1.8-acre parcel at 85 Parade Hill Lane, where a 1951-built ranch-style home had stood until it was demolished this summer, will include six bedrooms, four full bathrooms, three half-baths and a 3-car attached garage, according to the application.
The property had been purchased in December for $1,975,000, tax records show.
The new home will cost about $2.5 million to build and it will include 8,022 square feet on the first and second floors, and another 1,856 in a finished basement and a finished attic area of 222 square feet, the application said.
The contractor on the job is Blamsfield Builders of Danbury, and the architect is Brooks & Falotico of New Canaan, it said.

The town on July 14 issued a permit for a 3,100-square-foot home to be built on a vacant 4.19-acre lot on Cross Ridge Road.
The new home at 114 Cross Ridge Road will include five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a fireplace, the permit said.
According to tax records, the lot sold in December 2014 for $550,000. The new home will cost about $473,000 to install, it said.
The contractor on the job is Bethel-based Westchester Modular Homes.
