Police last week arrested a 49-year-old Norwalk man by warrant and charged him with second-degree breach of peace.
The warrant was obtained following an incident that was reported to local authorities in August, according to a police report.
Police took custody of the man at 9:55 a.m. on Oct. 1.
It isn’t clear what he’s accused of doing or whether the incident involved physical contact. Police withheld details.
Under state law, a person is guilty of second-degree breach of peace when he or she “with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof … [e]ngages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior in a public place” or “assaults or strikes another” or “in a public place, uses abusive or obscene language or makes an obscene gesture,” among other reasons.
The man was released after promising to appear Oct. 17 in state Superior Court.
