March 30, 2023—NewCanaanite.com today announced that Brown Harris Stevens Realtors Joanne Santulli, Karen Ceraso, Bettina Hegel and Schuyler Morris are sponsors of the local history feature “New Canaan Now and Then,” written by the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society.

The popular feature delves into the people and events behind prominent New Canaan residents, homes, commercial buildings, businesses and events.

“As Realtors and longtime residents of New Canaan, we are so excited to sponsor this beloved and important record of our town’s rich history,” Santulli said. “By spotlighting sites and structures that give us a glimpse of New Canaan’s past, ‘New Canaan Now and Then’ brings our history to life in a way that is both educational and fascinating. It’s no wonder the column has such a loyal readership.”

The local history feature launched in January 2022. Its first installment looked at the 1936-forged “Town Sign” out front of Town Hall and Rosen Bros. grocery across the street.

New Canaan Museum & Historical Society Executive Director Nancy Geary said, “I am very pleased that Brown Harris Stevens has partnered with the New Canaanite to sponsor the Then and Now column. For more than a year, the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society has enjoyed sharing its research on the history of houses and buildings around town. We are now grateful that the column will be supported in the year ahead.  It is a fascinating look into how the town has both changed and remained the same.”

New Canaanite Editor and Owner Michael Dinan said publication of the NCM&HS local history feature is central to the local news website’s mission.

Dinan said, “I’m grateful to Joanne and her colleagues at Brown Harris Stevens—Karen, Bettina and Schuyler—for their generous sponsorship of ‘New Canaan Now and Then.’ Thanks to them and NCM&HS, our readers will continue to find opportunities to connect with the rich history of our hometown.”
