Pamela L. Pedersen, 1952-2025

Pamela L. Pedersen of Sherman, CT passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, August 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her children and her son, Christian, by her side. Pam was a life-long resident of New Canaan, CT, having recently moved to Sherman in 2022 to be close to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Pam was predeceased by her husband, William S. Pedersen, III in 2023, and is survived by her three children and five grandchildren: William S. Pedersen, IV and his wife Heather and children Amber and Brooklyn, Kasey L. Diotte and her husband John and children John, Hadley, and Kaden, and Christian G. Pedersen.
A private burial service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan. Rest in peace, Mom.

Michael J.G. Neilson, 79

Michael John Gilmour Neilson, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his home in New Canaan, Connecticut, on August 22, 2025. The cause of death was prostate cancer. Mike was born on January 30, 1946, in Biggar, Scotland. His parents, John Langlands Neilson, a British Royal Navy officer, who served in the Mediterranean during WWII, and his mother Margaret Agnes Robertson, a British Wave, met and married in Alexandria, Egypt. After the war the couple lived in Biggar, Scotland, but later emigrated to the United States, settling in New Hyde Park, Long Island, one of several communities developed for returning servicemen and their families.

Ralph (‘Rip’) Pereida, 79

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ralph Inness Pereida (‘Rip’) on Friday, August 15, 2025, in Boise, ID. He was 79 years old. 

Born to Ralph and Anita (Brown) Pereida of New Canaan, CT, Rip attended Purdue University and worked as a chemical engineer and plant manager for Morton Thiokol for 34 years, living in Chicago, IL; Manistee, MI; Crystal Lake, IL; and Warsaw, IN before retiring to his dream house in the mountains in Boise, ID. He is survived by his wife, Chrys (Teeter) Pereida; his daughter, Alison (Pereida) Knapp; and his siblings, Ed Pereida and Laurie (Pereida) Sawhill. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen (Sebesta). Rip was an avid outdoorsman, fireworks enthusiast, gifted photographer, skilled hockey player, proud cat dad, and constant tinkerer.

Lawrence ‘Larry’ Anthony Tomaselli, 73

Lawrence “Larry”  Anthony Tomaselli, born April 23, 1952 in Norwalk Connecticut was called to his eternal home on August 18, 2025 in Christiansburg, Virginia; passing suddenly but with his family by his side. Larry was raised in New Canaan Connecticut by his parents Lawrence and Fisina Tomaselli. In his early education years he attended St. Aloysius School. He graduated in 1970 from New Canaan High School and attended the University of New Haven where he played Ice Hockey.

Jane A. Curran, 77

Jane A. Curran passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 77, after a 15-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born on June 26, 1948, Jane’s life was defined by love, grace, creativity, quiet strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was married to her devout husband, Dan Curran Sr., who is greatly saddened by their 25-year journey coming to an end. Jane is survived by her brother, Larry (Betsy) Athan Jr., her nephews, Larry (Leslie) Athan III, and Robby Athan, and her stepsons, Dan B (Lora) Curran, Jr. and Patrick Curran, all who held a special place in her heart. She is predeceased by her mother, Betty Schreck, father, Lawrence Athan Sr., and stepfather, Marty (Betty) Schreck.
