Police on Wednesday afternoon arrested a second Bronx, N.Y. woman by warrant in connection with the theft earlier this year of $780 in clothing from the Athletic Shoe Factory.
Officers had been dispatched to the Forest Street retailer around 5:11 p.m. on Feb. 17 regarding the thefts. Using video surveillance from inside the store and other area businesses, investigating officers identified the suspects as a mother-and-daughter duo.
They returned to the store on March 17, according to a police report. Police contacted the women at that time and one of them confessed to the earlier theft, the report said.
The mom, 49, turned herself in July 27 on charges of fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy.
The daughter, 22, turned herself in at about 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 on charges of conspiracy, fifth-degree larceny and two counts of sixth-degree larceny. She was released on $20,000 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 22 in state Superior Court.
