New Canaan-based nonprofit Filling in the Blanks, which this year marks its 10th anniversary, on Oct. 14 launched its mobile food pantry in Norwalk, where the organization’s new truck will come out 9 to 11 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month. “It’s a great morning here in Norwalk,” New Canaan resident Tina Kramer, who co-founded FITB with Shawnee Knight, told NewCanaanite.com as dozens of people lined up with shopping bags. “We have a great crowd that’s come out to utilize the launch of the mobile food pantry. People started lining up at 8 o’clock. Delivery is supposed to start at 9, but people are excited about the ability to have fresh food in the community. The demand is very great right now. We’re doing our soft-launch today, we didn’t even put the word out to the multiple communities that we’re serving.”
