New Canaan Police at 5:39 p.m. on Feb. 1 received a report of a vehicle with its keys left inside stolen from The Field Club on Smith Ridge Road. It was recovered in New York City.

The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday appointed Katie O’Neill to the Parking Commission and Melany Hearne to the Parks & Recreation Commission.

Congratulations to New Canaan’s Antonia Kolb on being selected as a Regeneron Science Talent Search scholar. The King School student won for “DETICKT IT: A Machine Learning-Based Application for Real-Time Tick Identification and Spatiotemporal Disease Risk Assessment.”

Police at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday received a report of a larceny at a South Avenue home. It appeared to be a domestic situation involving family members and no charges have been brought, police said.

First Selectman Dionna Carlson during Tuesday’s Board meeting praised the New Canaan Beautification League for its work, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, in a pocket park overlooking the train station downtown. “ If you haven’t been over there, take a look, it really is much improved,” she said.

Suzanne Adam, CEO of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, will present at First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, 18 following worship service. All are welcome.
