Angelina Hubertus (December 20, 2015) 8-year-old pianist playing Mozart ” Rondol Alla Turca”
Turkish March
Congratulations to West School third-grader Angelina Hubertus, 8, who on Dec. 20 played at Carnegie Hall (see video above). Though she’s only played piano for three years, the New Canaan resident this year was the “Honorable Winner” of the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. In addition to Music, Angelina loves skating, swimming, tennis and golf, and is a member of New Canaan YMCA basketball Junior Eagle team. New Canaanite readers may remember her from an article that ran this past summer, after a 300-year-old apple tree fell on an Oenoke Ridge Road property.

Recognize the man pictured in the photo at right?
On Dec. 2, video surveillance shows him stealing a New Canaan woman’s $2,000 Prada purse and $4,800 Gucci wallet—as well as credit cards and cash—from a shopping cart at Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk. According to Norwalk police, he left the store in a white four-door vehicle with a sunroof. If you have any information that could help police, please contact Norwalk PD Officer Boyd at 203-854-3113. The Norwalk Police tip line can be tapped at 203-854-3111.

Pet Sounds…Literally. All instruments/vocals performed & recorded by Cal Kehoe. Thank you to all of the dogs & their humans for being apart of this!
Wait till you see this video (above) by New Canaan’s Cal Kehoe, a tribute to man’s best friend that features a great rendition of what some people call the Beach Boys’ best song. (Check out Cal on Facebook, including upcoming live gig dates.)

University of Pennsylvania-bound New Canaan Rams QB Mike Collins threw at least one touchdown pass in every game he played in going back to the final three games of his sophomore season. By our count that makes it a streak of 27 straight games with a TD pass, good for yet another CIAC state record. The old mark was 22 set by Southington’s Dan Bruetsch from 1999 to 2000. With the new state-mandated restriction of 10 regular season games, this record should last a long, long time. Congrats to Michael on an amazing career under center for the Rams.
