Police after midnight Saturday arrested a 23-year-old Stamford man on a drug charge after finding packaged cocaine in his car.

At about 12:23 a.m. on Sept. 23, an officer on patrol stopped a 2002 Audi that failed to dim its high beams while traveling westbound on Cherry Street, according to a police report.

During a subsequent stop, police found a small amount of marijuana as well as individually packaged baggies of cocaine in the vehicle, the report said.

Police charged the man with sale of certain drugs and cited him for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana.

He separately was charged with misuse of plates, as the plates on the Audi were supposed to be on a 1997 Ford Mustang, according to state records.

Police released the man on $5,000 bond and scheduled him to appear Oct. 5 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
