Police after midnight Friday arrested a 27-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 1:25 a.m. on Dec. 22, an officer on patrol saw a motorist run a stop sign at New Norwalk and Shaker Roads, according to a police report.
The officer followed, and then saw the vehicle cross the double-yellow line while traveling southbound on New Norwalk road, the report said.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, it said. He then failed field sobriety tests and later tested for a blood-alcohol content level of .109, more than the legal limit.
Police additionally cited him for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to drive right.
He was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 3 in state Superior court in Norwalk.
