Police on Friday arrested a 43-year-old Norwalk man by warrant in connection with a drunk-driving incident in December where he tested at nearly four times the legal limit.
At about 9:54 p.m. on Dec. 23, officers were dispatched to Oenoke Ridge Road at Main Street on a report of a single-car crash, police said.
There, officers saw a vehicle off the road with the driver inside, according to a police report.
On speaking to him, police smelled alcohol on his breath, the report said.
He was transported to the emergency room at Norwalk Hospital by the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps for evaluation, it said.
A subsequent investigation led police to obtain an arrest warrant for the results of his blood-alcohol content test, the report said. He tested at .30, versus a legal limit of .08, it said.
At about 11:44 a.m. on Feb. 23, the man turned himself in to police on a misdemeanor charge of operating under the influence.
He was released on $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear March 6 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
