Police last week arrested a 20-year-old Ansonia woman by warrant in connection with a recent motor vehicle versus pedestrian collision downtown.
At about 10:52 a.m. on March 7 (a Tuesday), police received a report of a motorist fleeing the scene after striking a pedestrian in the area of Cherry Street and South Avenue, officials said.
Following an investigation, authorities obtained a warrant to arrest the woman, according to a police report.
On April 3, officers took custody of the woman and transported her to police headquarters for processing on misdemeanor charges of evading responsibility and interfering with an officer. She also was cited for failing to operate a motor vehicle with due care in order to avoid a pedestrian.
Police released the woman on $25,000 bond and scheduled her to appear April 20 in state Superior Court.
