Dear Editor,
A number of years ago, Kevin Moynihan was volunteering for the New Canaan Community Foundation. He was part of a team to review the GetAbout which had applied for a grant. After meeting most of the executive members of the Board, Kevin realized that GetAbout was very deserving of a grant and that they could use some help. His interest in helping local non-profits led him to volunteer to join the GetAbout Board.
Shortly thereafter I also joined the Board. I realized immediately that Getabout had a great Board and Kevin’s active participation was key to its growth. Over the past decade GetAbout’s budget has increased 50%. I was struck by Kevin’s keen decision-making ability. Whenever a decision needed to be made Kevin would listen attentively and after hearing all sides would propose a solution.
I believe Kevin has continued to demonstrate his strong listening and decision making skills. New Canaan has a wonderful sense of community. Our support of non-profits is amazing. Kevin has been a great friend to all non-profits and has been especially helpful to GetAbout.
He has been a great first selectman and deserves another term.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Bitting
