On Friday July 12 and Saturday July 13, the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce hosted the 54th Annual Village Fair and Sidewalk Sales. Thousands of bargain hunters and their families came downtown for the fun. With over 115 participating booths there was plenty of entertainment, food and of course, bargains galore for everyone.
The fair, like any other big event, takes months and months of planning. The Chamber would like to thank our lead sponsor, William Raveis Real Estate. Thanks also to Karl Chevrolet, People’s United Bank, New Canaan YMCA, Bankwell, NC Parking Dept., NC Police, NC Health Dept., CERT, Against the Grain, and NewCanaanite.com for their support of the event.
A round of applause also goes out to the many folks and organizations that made this day possible including the New Canaan Chamber Board, the team of Karl Chevrolet, the New Canaan Town Band, Keith Simpson and Associates, The School of Rock, Julia Jewel Band, Nick Depuy and Pennyweights for their donation of a booth to a non-profit. Last but not least we owe Mose Saccary, Tiger Mann and the crew at Public Works a huge amount of gratitude for all their help before during and after and for having downtown all cleaned up in little over an hour after the event was over.
Finally, I would like to extend my appreciation to all the merchants and vendors who have committed to join the Chamber and support our events. Together we are making a difference and it shows.
Our next exciting event will take place on Aug. 22. Stay tuned for more information as we roll out many new features for the community to enjoy all the superb dining choices we have here in New Canaan.
