To the Editor,
This year marks the 20th year that Lapham Community Center has assisted New Canaan residents with Medicare Part D enrollment, offering invaluable support and guidance through the process of evaluating and choosing a plan. This year’s dedicated counselors – Dick Neville, Sally Campbell, Kim Campbell, Shean-Mei Sheu, Shannon Vallerie, and Kathy Collins – provided over 342 hours of service.
Our counselors met with 400 residents, 146 of whom (36%) chose to change their Part D plan, leading to a combined savings of $384,000.
Lapham Center and New Canaan residents are fortunate to have extensively trained, volunteer Medicare counselors available year-round to answer questions and assist those new to Medicare with navigating the enrollment process. To schedule an appointment, call Lapham at 203-594-3620.
Medicare counseling may be the single most important service we provide, made possible by these dedicated volunteers. We are so very grateful for all their efforts!
