Dear Editor,

On August 27th, the ninth annual Community Addiction Awareness Vigil will be held in downtown New Canaan, hosted and organized by The New Canaan Parent Support Group and its dedicated founder, Paul Reinhardt.

Nearly half of all Americans have a family member or close friend who has struggled with drug or alcohol addiction. This Vigil is a powerful event in our community, promoting open dialogue and nurturing a culture of empathy and acceptance for those affected by addiction. The stories shared each year have the potential to save lives, serving as a testament to the resilience and hope that can arise from even the most challenging circumstances. Silver Hill Hospital proudly supports and participates in the Vigil each year.

Join me and my fellow staff members from the Hospital on the 27th as we gather in unity and strength.

Sincerely,

Andrew J. Gerber, MD, PhD

President and Medical Director, Silver Hill Hospital
