New Canaanite: Family Britches moved to Main Street about three years ago, after some 40 years on Elm. How’s the “new” location working out?

Mark Gust: The new location has been great. Our customers love the space and the fact that there is parking behind the store.

Yours is one of the local businesses we’ve heard about most often from New Canaanites when we reach out for stories on retailers. They’ve cited your “personal touch” as well as Canali suits. What are some of your bestsellers this time of year?

People have especially liked the unique outerwear from Gimo’s along with perennial favorites Faherty, Johnnie-O, Peter Millar and Canali.

New Canaan has had scores of new residents move in since the pandemic took hold last year. A lot of those people seem to be reading our site. What would like to tell them about Family Britches?

As new residents move in I hope they stop in and see the service and personal touch we provide. Albert, our tailor, will make sure your clothing fits great.

Anything else you’d like to tell our readers?

Please shop local.
