New Canaan police last week assisted the government fraud unit of the chief state’s attorney’s office, division of criminal justice, in serving an arrest warrant to a 43-year-old Danbury man charged with felony offenses.
Edilberto Marcos had been working at a nursery on Frogtown Road and at 6:20 a.m. on Sept. 17 was arrested and taken into custody by the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
According to Connecticut Judicial Branch records, Marcos is accused of committing first-degree larceny and unemployment compensation fraud three years ago. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Marcos was released on $10,000 bond. His case is assigned to state Superior Court in New Britain.

Police are investigating the reported theft of a $6,500 Suzuki motorcycle from a Richmond Hill Road driveway.
The keys were not in the vehicle, though no additional locks were used to secure the bike, which was reported stolen at 7:34 a.m. on Sept. 16, police said.
