Police cited a 40-year-old Stamford man on minor drug charges last Wednesday night after finding marijuana and smoking gear in his car during a traffic stop.
At 9:35 p.m. on Nov. 4, an officer found that a motorist traveling east on Davenport Ridge Road near Skyview Lane was driving a car whose registration had expired in September, according to a police report.
The officer pulled the car over and smelled pot emanating from within as he approached, the report said.
When asked about drugs in the car, the driver admitted to having a grinder and digital scale, and the officer could see the remnants of joints in the center console, the report said. A search of the car unearthed an un-smoked joint and two others, partially smoked, the report said.
The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana.
