Nancy Geary, the executive director of the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society, will describe the Campus Reimagined Project and other recent developments at the museum in her remarks Friday at the New Canaan Men’s Club meeting in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge.

The museum’s reimagined campus will house a permanent exhibition depicting New Canaan’s evolution from Canaan Parish to its incorporation in 1801 up to the present day, as it became the home for renowned artists, architects, industry heads and religious leaders who left their marks on the town and its inhabitants through the centuries. The museum will also highlight with notable figures such as Alice King, who built the first black neighborhood in New Canaan, and Mary Louise King, known for organizing and documenting New Canaan’s history.
Upcoming museum programs include Portraits of New Canaan, featuring paintings, drawings and photographs of famous New Canaanites, and The World According to Jazz, in partnership with the First Presbyterian Church. Presented by John Kao, author of Jamming: The Art and Discipline of Business Creativity, Kao will speak about how jazz fosters creativity, collaboration and finding the way in a time of disruption.
