New Canaan Police after midnight Wednesday arrested a 47-year-old Toby’s Lane man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 12:10 a.m. on March 6, an officer on patrol clocked a vehicle traveling northbound on Old Stamford Road at 51 mph in a 40 mph zone, according to a police report. During a subsequent stop at Old Stamford and Gower Roads, the officer detected signs of impairment in the driver, the report said.
At headquarters, the man submitted to a test that established his blood-alcohol level at .127, half again as much as the legal limit.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear March 19 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
