Police on Tuesday arrested a 59-year-old New Canaan man accused of shoplifting candy from the Mobil Mart.
At about 3:12 p.m. on May 21, officers responded to 16 South Ave. for a reported larceny in progress, police said.
Through an investigation, authorities established that the man stole a tube of M&Ms, according to a police report.
He was arrested on the spot for the misdemeanor offense of sixth-degree larceny.
Police released the man after he promised to appear June 3 in state Superior Court.
