A 23–year-old New Canaan man was cited on minor drug charges last week after police stopped him on Weed Street for having a plastic cover over his license plate that made it unreadable.
After being pulled over at 11:59 a.m. on May 14, the Oenoke Ridge Road resident told police that he had a friend’s bag in the car with “stuff in it,” according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department.
In the backpack, police found a shaving cream can with a false bottom that had a small amount of marijuana in it, as well as a red metal grinder, smoking bowl, pipe and rolling papers.
He was ticketed for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana, second offense, improper window tint and improper attachment to a rear license plate.
