The New Canaan Building Department this month received an application for a new 8,550-square-foot home on Laurel Road.
The six-bedroom house planned for 293 Laurel Road will include five full baths, two half-baths, three fireplaces, media, recreation, wine and exercise rooms, and a three-car garage, according to a building permit application filed March 11.
It will cost about $985,000 to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is Jericho, N.Y.-based Woodcrest Homes LLC, the architect Dennis Peters Designs of Wilton.
The 2.93-acre property was sold in February for $650,000, tax records show. It’s owned by a limited liability company.
The property is located in the two-acre zone and includes a 1941-built Cape, according to a tax assessor field card.
