Town officials have issued a permit to build a new 7,000-square-foot home on a .41 acre parcel on South Avenue, about five times the size of the house that had stood there.

Number 310 South Ave. was sold in May for $1.2 million, and then sold again for $50,000 about one month ago.
The town on Dec. 8 issued a permit to demolish the 1,439-square-foot, 1955-built ranch there.

In its place, Country Club Homes will build a 6-bedroom home with six full bathrooms and one half-bath, according to a permit issued Dec. 22.
The new house will cost about $950,000 to build, the permit said.
