The New Canaan Building Department this month received an application to build a new six-bedroom home-plus-cottage on Turtleback Road.
The approximately 17,000-square-foot home at 84 Turtleback Road will include eight full bathrooms, two half-baths and a five-car attached garage, according to an undated building permit application filed on or before Sept. 15.
It will include 16 total rooms and cost about $6 million to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job will be New Canaan-based Wadia Construction, the architect Cuono Engineering of White Plains, N.Y., it said.
The 7.16-acre property had been purchased for $3.2 million in August 2019, tax records show. Last month, the town issued a permit to demolish the 1959-built, 9,000-square-foot home on the property, building records show.
And that my friends, sums up vanity in New Canaan, when 9000 sqft is too small !
