Police late Friday arrested a 45-year-old Oenoke Ridge man and charged him with driving under the influence and evading responsibility.
At about 10:33 p.m. on Sept. 10, officers were dispatched to the area of 182 Main St. on a report of a vehicle that struck two parked cars and left the scene of the crash, according to police.
Based on witness statements, the officers obtained the license plate number for the suspect vehicle and identified the man as the owner, according to a police report.
Following an investigation, police identified him as the driver, the report said.
He later returned to the scene, it said.
Police found signs of impairment in speaking with the driver, it said. After conducting field sobriety tests, police at 11:48 p.m. took him into custody on the misdemeanor charges and also cited him for failure to drive right, the report said. He refused to provide a sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, it said.
The man was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 13 in state Superior Court.
